INTAFLO WARRANTY CERTIFICATE
INTAFLO TANKS
1. Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
This warranty is provided in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
2. Warranty Coverage
2.1 Domestic Use
When installed for standard domestic use, Intaflo warrants the Intaflo domestic hot water tank to be free from defects in materials, workmanship and manufacturing for a period of five (5) years parts and labour and one (1) year - electrical components and the Intaflo buffer tank for a period of two (2) years parts and labour from the date of purchase, provided all installation and operating conditions in this document are met.
2.2 Commercial Use
Where the product is installed at a commercial or non-residential property, including but not limited to offices, retail premises, hospitality venues, mixed-use developments or installations subject to increased operating hours or load demands, the warranty period is two (2) years parts and labour from the date of purchase, provided all installation and operating conditions in this document are met.
3. What Intaflo Will Do
During the applicable warranty period, Intaflo will, at its option:
1. Repair the product; or
2. Replace the product with the same or an equivalent model.
Repairs or replacements will be carried out during normal business hours by Intaflo or an authorised Intaflo service agent. Repaired or replaced components carry the balance of the original warranty period.
4. Installer Requirements
This warranty is valid only where the system has been:
Installed by appropriately licensed plumbers and electricians, as applicable;
Installed strictly in accordance with Intaflo installation instructions, design documentation and all relevant Australian Standards and statutory requirements;
Correctly commissioned, with commissioning documentation retained.
Any incorrect, non-compliant or substandard installation may void this warranty.
5. Owner Responsibilities
To maintain warranty coverage, the owner must:
1. Operate the system in accordance with the Intaflo operation manual;
2. Ensure regular maintenance, including:
Y-strainer cleaned at least every 6 months;
Condensate drain kept clear;
Air inlet and outlet kept free from obstructions;
3. Ensure the hydronic system is correctly flushed, filled, treated and maintained with appropriate water treatment chemicals, including corrosion inhibitors and biocides where required;
4. Maintain acceptable water quality and prevent the ingress of air, sludge, scale or contaminants;
5. Provide safe and reasonable access to the unit for service;
6. Retain proof of purchase and proof of compliant installation.
Damage caused by lack of maintenance or inadequate water treatment is not covered under this warranty.
6. Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover damage, faults or unsatisfactory performance resulting from:
6.1 Installation Issues
Incorrect installation, commissioning or wiring;
Installation not in accordance with Intaflo documentation or Australian Standards;
Incorrect system design, flow rates, pipe sizing, pumps, controls or balancing.
6.2 External Factors
Incorrect electrical supply, voltage fluctuations, spikes or electromagnetic interference;
Storm, fire, flood, hail, lightning, earthquake, vermin, insects or rodents;
Corrosive or aggressive environmental conditions, including salt or chemical exposure.
6.3 Water Quality
Sludge, sediment, scale, corrosive or aggressive water;
Contamination originating from third-party system components.
6.4 Misuse or Operation Outside Specification
Operation outside published temperature, pressure or duty limits;
Restricted or blocked airflow;
Use of the product for purposes other than water-based heating / cooling.
6.5 Unauthorised Work
Repairs or modifications not authorised by Intaflo;
Use of non-genuine parts or accessories.
6.6 Commercial/ Construction Site Damage
Damage occurring during renovations, building work, moving, transport, or storage of the product.
6.7 Consequential Loss
Costs associated with removal, reinstallation, crane hire, access equipment, scaffolding, loss of income or other indirect or consequential losses.
7. Service Access, Travel and No-Fault Fees
A travel or call-out fee may apply where:
The installation is located more than 40 km from an authorised Intaflo service agent;
Special access, inductions, tolls or parking costs are required.
If a service visit determines the product is operating correctly or the issue is not covered under warranty, a no-fault-found fee (including labour and travel) may apply.
Service may be refused if:
the unit is unsafe to access,
the unit is installed in a location that does not meet manufacturer clearances,
the owner cannot provide reasonable access.
8. Making a Warranty Claim
To lodge a warranty claim, the owner must provide:
Model and serial number;
Proof of purchase;
Proof of compliant installation;
Installation address and contact details;
Description of the issue and supporting information where available.
9. Warranty Void
This warranty may be void if:
Installation was carried out by unlicensed trades;
Non-approved parts were installed;
The system was modified or relocated without approval;
Water treatment requirements were not met;
Required maintenance was not performed.
